Château La Tour de By produces serious and age-worthy clarets that simultaneously provide a great deal of immediate pleasure in their youth. Ripe and expressive, full-bodied and charming, a nice chewy, yet civilized tannin to sink your teeth into… I hope you enjoy the newest KLWM Bordeaux.

France | Bordeaux
Artisanal white Bordeaux like you have never tasted before!
2023 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
France | Bordeaux
Crafted from less than two hectares of organic grapes and vinified in a cramped garage, this is silky Saint-Emilion at its most seductive.
2025 Graves Blanc
France | Bordeaux
Brimming with honeysuckle, lychee, and citrus, this Bordeaux blend is reliably harmonious with Eastern cuisine.
2023 Sauternes HALF BOTTLE
France | Bordeaux
It is a habit-forming apéritif with or without foie gras.
2020 Canon Fronsac
France | Bordeaux
You may find it to be leaner and livelier than the rich, plush Merlots of Pomerol and Saint-Émilion.

This single-vineyard cuvée is from the domaine’s oldest vines. After a few hours in a decanter, it will reach its peak with silky tannins and a refined mouthfeel.

This is truly artisanal Sauternes—made by hardworking farmers who are willing to sacrifice quantity for excellence.

France | Bordeaux
A nervy, age-worthy wine; it smells remarkably like top-notch Chablis, but on the palate hints at cool and tropical fruits like melon, lychee, and lime.
2023 Sauternes “Esquisse”
France | Bordeaux
This refreshing dessert wine is versatile at table—it works wonders as an apéritif or with cheeses—and can still be cellared for several years.
About The Producer
Château La Tour de By
Château La Tour de By sits at the far northern end of the Médoc, on Bordeaux’s famous Left Bank. The estate has known several owners over the centuries, but vines have been a constant, planted and cultivated on the property since as far back as 1599. Marc Pagès purchased the property in 1965 and initiated an evolution in quality that endures to the present. Today, Marc’s oldest grandson, Frédéric Le Clerc, manages the property with his cousin Benjamin Richer de Forges. The wine produced at Tour de By has been renowned in France for decades—as a Cru Bourgeois since 1932 and a member of the Union of Grands Crus since 1977. These are serious and age-worthy clarets that provide a great deal of immediate pleasure in their youth. Ripe and expressive, full-bodied and charming, they are wines we look forward to enjoying for years to come.
About The Region
Bordeaux
Often considered the wine capital of the world, Bordeaux and its wines have captured the minds, hearts, and wallets of wine drinkers for centuries. For many, the wines provide an inalienable benchmark against which all other wines are measured.
Bordeaux is divided into three winegrowing regions with the city that gives the region its name in the near geographical center. The “right bank,” or the area located east of the Dordogne River, produces wines that are predominantly Merlot with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The “left bank” is located to the west of the Garonne River and produces wines dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot.
The third region, Entre-Deux-Mers, lies between both rivers and produces white wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle. Though technically in the left bank, it is worth noting the appellation of Sauternes, which produces arguably the world’s most famous sweet wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle as well.
Though many top Bordeaux wines are sold en primeur (in advance of their bottling) and often through a middleman known as a negoçiant, Kermit has always preferred to purchase directly from the winemaker. For more than three decades he has sought out small producers, who make classic Bordeaux wines and are willing to play outside the negoçiant system. This ethic has led to longstanding relationships, excellent prices, and perhaps most important—wines of great value and longevity.

For the wines that I buy I insist that the winemaker leave them whole, intact. I go into the cellars now and select specific barrels or cuvées, and I request that they be bottled without stripping them with filters or other devices. This means that many of our wines will arrive with a smudge of sediment and will throw a more important deposit as time goes by, It also means the wine will taste better.
